The Symantec Advanced Repackaging with Wise Package Studio course is designed for the professional tasked with repackaging projects. This 4 day, instrucutor lead, hands on class covers how to use the robust features, functions, processes, and underlying technology of Wise Package Studio® software. Students will also learn installation creation, troubleshooting, and practical tips to allign their enterprises repackaging projects with industry standards to produce error-free repackaged applications.

Course Objectives

• Understand the Wise Package Studio architecture
• Install Wise Package Studio and Client
• Understand the process of performing Wise Package Studio migrations.
• Implement Wise Package Studio within Enterprise
• Create packaging templates
• Create an .MSI with Windows Installer Editor and SetupCapture
• Maintain .MSIs with InstallTailor™ and Windows Installer Editor
• Determine .MSI's self healing behaviour based on its Feature and Component Design
• Understand .MSI relational database structure and how this affects logo compliancy and ICE validations
• Identify and resolve user profile related ICE errors
• Generate virtual software packages in Virtual Package Editor, then deploy and manage them with Software Virtualization Solution™ software
• Test packages using Test Expert
• Identify and manage conflicts in packages using Software Manager and ConflictManager® Software
• Distribute packages using the Software Manager database
• Use additional Wise Package Studio tools to create and manage your repackaging projects
• Configure and Implement initial Workbench setup requirements
• Analyze complex applications

Prerequisites

• Must have working knowledge of the Windows operating system. Should have attended the Repackaging with Wise Package Studio course with the use of the product regularly.

• Individuals who have prior repackaging and Wise Package Studio experience.
• System administrators, system engineers, or anyone responsible for fulfilling requests for applications
• Those working toward Altiris Certified Professional (ACP) or Altiris Certified Engineer (ACE) certification
