This 3-day, instructor-led, hands-on class focuses on the daily tasks asset managers and users perform with their Altiris solutions. This includes:

• Create and maintain asset control within I.T. Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards
• Establish an asset management process
• Manage assets and reduce asset total cost of ownership
• Enter contract and lease information in the Notification Database

Course Objectives

• Explain why ITIL and Sarbanes-Oxley initiatives are important to your organization
• Determine which assets and resources need to be tracked in your organization
• Track assets through the asset process flow
• Create software purchases and software licenses
• View asset and contract data using Web Reports

Prerequisites

• Basic understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Windows
• (Optional, but recommended) Familiarity using VMware
• Attend Altiris Service & Asset Management Suite online training

Audience

• Asset users, asset managers, and CIOs responsible for managing contracts and asset standards in their environment
• Anyone who will be managing and using an Service & Asset Management Suite Level 2 infrastructure
